{"id":9402,"date":"2015-02-27T16:02:00","date_gmt":"2015-02-27T16:02:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thomasbruce.com\/website_1d889e57\/?p=9402"},"modified":"2025-05-10T16:51:01","modified_gmt":"2025-05-10T16:51:01","slug":"continuing-education-the-lifeline-for-professionals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thomasbruce.com\/website_1d889e57\/continuing-education-the-lifeline-for-professionals\/","title":{"rendered":"Continuing Education &#8211; Positively, the Lifeline for Professionals"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Continuing education in today\u2019s highly competitive photography industry, photographers are constantly challenged to stay one step ahead and set themselves apart.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An important step in doing that is joining and participating in professional organizations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The rewards are many, from hands-on , real education to networking and building a support group around you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I am a proud&nbsp;member of the Professional Photographers of America, the Southeastern Professional Photographers, the Florida Professional Photographers\u2013 which I am currently Vice-President of\u2013 and the Tampa Area Professional Photographers Association&nbsp; where I am a Past President and Life Member. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I am&nbsp;CONNECTED and serious about continuing my&nbsp;education and raising the bar in our industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last weekend, the Florida Professional Photographers held their annual Spring Seminar in Tampa at the Doubletree Hotel.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our guest instructor was one of the Tampa Bay area\u2019s most sought after portrait and wedding photographers, <a href=\"https:\/\/boorayperry.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Booray Perry<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As Seminar Chair, I am tasked with organizing the program, and in this case, in charge of wrangling the models. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The lovely girls you see here are my daughter, Lexi and several of her very best friends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"235\" data-id=\"9406\" src=\"https:\/\/thomasbruce.com\/website_1d889e57\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/DSC_0660-300x235-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9406\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" data-id=\"9404\" src=\"https:\/\/thomasbruce.com\/website_1d889e57\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/DSC_0642-200x300-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9404\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"249\" height=\"300\" data-id=\"9405\" src=\"https:\/\/thomasbruce.com\/website_1d889e57\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/DSC_0638-249x300-1.jpg\" alt=\"Continuing Education\n\" class=\"wp-image-9405\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" data-id=\"9407\" src=\"https:\/\/thomasbruce.com\/website_1d889e57\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/DSC_0654-300x224-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9407\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They had a blast playing \u201cAmerica\u2019s Next Top Model\u201d while the rest of us honed our skills with off-camera flash.
