{"id":598,"date":"2025-02-18T19:36:29","date_gmt":"2025-02-18T19:36:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thomasbruce.com\/website_1d889e57\/?p=598"},"modified":"2026-03-07T18:15:46","modified_gmt":"2026-03-07T18:15:46","slug":"in-a-world-where-professional-passport-photographers-rule","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thomasbruce.com\/website_1d889e57\/in-a-world-where-professional-passport-photographers-rule\/","title":{"rendered":"In a World Where Professional Passport Photographers Rule\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"\">I should be your professional photographer! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>If I were Queen of the World&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">We would all stick to what we are trained in&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">All drug stores would stick to selling pain relief and snacks. and forget trying to sell passport photos.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">All auto clubs would stick to selling car and travel insurance and forget trying to take passport photos.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">All on-line websites that claim to be able to convert your poorly lit, out of focus, cell phone selfie into a passable passport photo for any country, would just go away &#8211; maybe just become telephone solicitors, because they&#8217;re just as annoying.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">When it comes to passport photos, they&#8217;re rarely described as &#8220;art,&#8221; however, there IS an art to nailing the<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"> proper specifications for creating an <a href=\"https:\/\/usa.embassy.gov.au\/passport-photos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Australian passport<\/a> photo that the <a href=\"https:\/\/usa.embassy.gov.au\/passport-photos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Australian government<\/a> will <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">accept. Same with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/canadian-passports\/photos.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canadians<\/a>. There&#8217;s a bureaucracy in place that is guaranteed to confound most <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">citizens into supplying the wrong photos for their foreign passport nearly every time. That&#8217;s because <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">foreign passport photos are not measured in inches (the common measurement of US passport images <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">supplied by drug stores and auto clubs), they&#8217;re measured in millimeters (the prevailing standard of <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">measurement everywhere on the planet except the US).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">So, when it comes to obtaining a properly sized passport photo for anywhere &#8211; INCLUDING the <a href=\"https:\/\/travel.state.gov\/content\/travel\/en\/passports\/how-apply\/photos.html#:~:text=You%20can%20wear%20jewelry%20and,for%20passport%20purposes%20as%20well.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">US<\/a>, you&#8217;d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"> be best served contacting a<a href=\"http:\/\/thomasbruce.com\"> PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER<\/a>, not a dime store clerk or a travel agent!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Thomas Bruce Studio of Photography &#8211; <strong>by appointment only<\/strong> &#8211; 727-577-5626.
