Continuing Education- the Lifeline for Professionals
In today’s highly competitive photography industry, photographers are constantly challenged to stay one step ahead and set themselves apart. An important step in doing that is joining and participating in professional organizations. The rewards are many, from hands-on , real education to networking and building a support group around you. I am a proud member of the Professional Photographers of America, the Southeastern Professional Photographers, the Florida Professional Photographers– which I am currently Vice-President of– and the Tampa Area Professional Photographers Association where I am a Past President and Life Member. I am CONNECTED and serious about continuing my education and raising the bar in our industry. Last weekend, the Florida Professional Photographers held their annual Spring Seminar in Tampa at the Doubletree Hotel. Our guest instructor was one of the Tampa Bay area’s most sought after portrait and wedding photographers, Booray Perry. As Seminar Chair, I am tasked with organizing the program, and in this case, in charge of wrangling the models. The lovely girls you see here are my daughter, Lexi and several of her very best friends. They had a blast playing “America’s Next Top Model” while the rest of us honed our skills with off-camera flash. It was a fun, information-packed day for us all!
